Rent Lens For Canon Camera

Paul asks…Non-flash indoor photography?I'm going to see a musician perform in a club. Only non-flash photography is allowed. I assume it will be typical low-lighting as it is a club. I know how to do that with still objects, but how to do it when the performer is moving around? Won't his image be all blurry? I use a Nikon D40X if that matters to anyone.
