This is my first outdoor shoot to build a portfolio, with my sister as my model. I'd love to hear some tips with regards to makeup, lighting etc that will help me turn out beautiful photos. Sandy asks…Problems with my Canon Rebel EOS t3?I've had the camera for about 10 months now and it has been working perfectly up until now. I havent used it in about a month but I took it out again today and noticed that it doesn't focus anymore... I tried every setting, I cleaned the lens a thousand times, it just won't focus- all the photos come out blurry and it doesn't make the usual adjustment when you press down a little on the shutter. I don't get what's going on. Can someone help me?

Steven asks…Help purchasing a DSLR or Mirrorless camera for primarly video!?I have a canon 30D body, two GL2 camcorders, and I'd like to sell them and purchase a mirrorless or DSLR. I was looking at the NEX 5N or the Pen E-P3. The T3i looks tempting too. I do a lot of shooting of bands in very low light, and have been using the 50mm 1.8 EF II lens with a 7D I rent from the school I work at. There are so many choices, I don't even know where to start. Any advice would be great!mr.eos

Lens For Canon Rebel Xs
Charles asks…Should I get the Canon Rebel XS or Nikon D40?I don't care much about the price difference, or the difference in megapixels.
I will be shooting wildlife, animals, my family and kids.
My main worry with the Nikon D40 is that it will soon be a discontinued model. I have also heard from many people that there is not much 'growing room' in the Nikon D40. I want a camera that I can keep for the next 2 or 3 years.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!mr.eos answers:The first time

My budget is 10,000.
Or should I wait for 3-4 months and buy Canon EF50mm f/1.4 USM?
*correction INR 10,000
Model no. Canon EOS 60D.mr.eos answers:You didn't mention the model of your camera. It's kinda crucial.
If it's a camera with a cropped sensor, then the 50mm f/1.8 is perfect for portraits.
If it's a full frame camera, then you want something like an 85mm lens.

Steven asks…Best lens for concert photography? (Olympus)?I will be shooting at the Vans Warped Tour on July 31. I have my press pass so I'm good to go, and I've shot a few concerts before by making do with a kit lens (I have an Olympus E-520, and have gotten away with a 14-42mm 3.5-5.6 lens) I’d really love to upgrade to a faster lens, but I’m a student and I won’t be able to afford an expensive telephoto lens until next year. This is an awesome opportunity for me so I want to shoot

Sandra asks…Which would be a better choice for a film camera?I already own a Diana F+ but I was wondering if I would be better off using my money to get a film camera in the Canon Rebel series, because I already own a Canon Rebel T1i DSLR. I'm more of a Canon person than Nikon also and I heard if you already own a Canon Rebel you don't need to buy anymore lenses if you get a Canon Rebel that uses film because they can hold the same lenses, which would be convient. Sharon asks…How can you consider a DSLR lens to be FAST?mr.eos answers:Inside the lens is what's called the diaphragm which is made up of thin metal blades which are movable and used to form the aperture or f-stop - the opening that allows light to pass through the lens. The larger the opening the more light the lens admits.
Another major component in lens speed is the type of glass used in the various elements inside the lens and the number of groups of elements. I have in my collection a

Thanks.mr.eos answers:If you are looking for a larger sensor than is available on a point and shoot camera then you will have to step up to a DSLR. The sensors in a DSLR can be 15 times larger than those of a point and shoot.

i've read a lot of reviews and such on them, they both seem really good.
what camera do you recommend?

Charles asks…Questions about which camera to buy?First of all, what are those little digital cameras in the commercials with the man at a restaurant taking photos of girls, and is that any good?
Second, I want a less expensive camera, because I just learned most of them cost over $1,000. As low as I can go, with a good quality camera would be good.
And, I do not want one where you hold and then it takes the photo. I want a short delay between when I push the button and when it takes the

Thomas asks…can you use non digital slr camera lens on new digital slr camera?mr.eos answers:Maybe. It's quite a complex equation as many manfacturers have changed mounts and whatnot in the years.
As a general rule, AF lenses are compatible with modern AF DSLRs made by the same manufacturers (e.g. A Canon EF lens from the late 80's will function fully on any Canon DSLR). However there are some exceptions to the rule.

Susan asks…What would be a good DSLR for a beginner? What would be a good DSLR for a beginner? I know i want the brand to be Canon or Nikon. I would photograph people and places. My budget is $700 including an optical lens.mr.eos answers:For $700 you can buy either the Nikon D3100 or Canon T1i/500D
For clarity, ALL lenses are optical and both the D3100 and T1i/500D come with a 18-55 mm lens
Beginner or not, ANY dSLR is good for a beginner whether the $700 entry level dSLR or a $8,000
