Lens For Canon T4i

Daniel asks…would a 40mm pancake work for upclose eye makeup looks?I have the canon t4i and have the basic 18-55 mm When I take pictures of my eye makeup with the 55mm either my lashes are out of focus and my eyeshadow is in focus or if my lashes are in focus then my eyeshadow is out of focus. And because of the curve of my eye socket either Lose focus on the beginning of my eyebrow or lose focus on the tail of my eyebrow. I just want a clear detail up close picture of my whole eye area. I
