Lens For Canon Rebel Xs

Lizzie asks…What Canon lens should I look into next?Im pretty new to cameras and what not, I have a Canon Rebel XS and the only lens i have right now is the 18-55 lens that it came with. So I was wondering what is another good lens that I could get to maybe zoom in a bit more and getting better pictures all around. I don't have specific things I like to take pictures of so I was wondering what would be the best lens for pictures in general. My budget would be around 300. Thanks!mr.eos
