Betty asks…why is a 24mm lens on a film camera different to a digital camera? If i wanted to have the same quality of a 24mm lens how do I know what digital lens to buy?mr.eos answers:Digital SLRs, with a few exceptions, have a smaller sensor area than a 35mm film camera. That smaller sensor acts like a magnifier, with a 1.5x factor for Nikons and a 1.6x factor for Canons.
So a 24mm lens will look like a 36mm lens (24mm x 1.5 = 36mm) on a Nikon; on a Canon digital SLR, it will be 38.4mm!
